PACE winter session agenda made public

The agenda of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) winter session that will take place on January 26-30, 2015 has been made public, PACE told APA.

 

 

The session will be addressed by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins.

 

Debates on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and on protection of media freedom in Europe are among highlights of the Assembly’s winter session. Intolerance and discrimination in Europe will be discussed. A joint debate on equality and the crisis, and on the right to bargain collectively, including the right to strike, is also foreseen.

 

Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland and Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders will make speeches in the session.

 

The progress report on the activities of the Assembly’s Bureau and Standing Committee and observation reports on the elections in Moldova and Tunisia will be presented.
