Azerbaijan, Norway sign visa facilitation, readmission agreements

Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov has met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Azerbaijan Bård Ivar Svendsen, the Foreign Ministry told APA. The sides discussed the current state and development prospects of relations between the two countries.

 

During the meeting, agreements on visa facilitation and readmission of persons residing without authorization between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Norway were signed.

 

The documents include facilitation of procedures for issuing visas to citizens of Azerbaijan and Norway; visa-free regime for citizens of both countries holding diplomatic passports; reduction of the number of required documents, deadline for processing application and visa fees; identification of the persons who do not follow the conditions regarding entering, staying or living in the territory of Azerbaijan and Norway or who haven’t fulfill these conditions, quick and efficient realization of their safe and orderly return.

 

The Foreign Ministry said that the signing of the agreements will contribute to strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and Norway in economic, humanitarian, cultural, scientific and other fields.
