We’re going to create a common Turkic TV channel. A decision in this respect has already been made. The structural project for the TV channel is ready.
Project Manager at Turkic Council, Mr. Zamin Aliyev said at today’s meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Issues in Baku, APA reports.
He said a coordination group was established after the initiative had been put forward by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the Bodrum summit of the heads of state of Turkic-speaking countries in June 2014.
“In late October this year, the decision of creating such a channel was adopted at the meeting of the coordination group. The channel will be structurally comprised of the Administrative Personnel, Board of Directors, and editorial staff. The channel will operate in both English and the official languages of Turkic-speaking countries and will have an international status like Al Jazeera and Euronews. The channel is currently undergoing a broadcasting test and will soon start functioning”.
He noted that “Eurasia Life” has been approved as the name of the channel but can be altered afterwards.
