The fight against corruption is the embodiment of Azerbaijan’s political will, the Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration’s Department for Work with Law Enforcement Agencies Fuad Alasgarov told Trend Nov. 19.
He said Azerbaijan is carrying out a successful fight against corruption, and the reforms in this area are continuing.
Alasgarov said Azerbaijan today became the chairman of the Assembly of the International Anti-Corruption Academy, adding that the chairmanship will last one year.
On Nov. 19, the Azerbaijani capital of Baku hosted the third session of the Assembly of the International Anti-Corruption Academy.
The event is being attended by over 130 representatives from 43 countries.
Among the event participants are the representatives of such organizations as the Council of Europe, the EU, the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), managers of the European Anti-Fraud Office, anti-corruption agencies, and ministers of justice and interior.
