The General Prosecutor’s Office and the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry sent a joint group to investigate an armed attack in Goranboy region, in which seven people were killed, Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov told reporters Oct. 1.
“The crime was committed due to a family conflict,” he said. “The offender was detained. The law enforcement bodies will ensure impartial investigation of the crime.”
Thirty-six-year-old Rafiq Huseynov, suspected of killing seven people in Goranboy region of Azerbaijan, was detained, the Goranboy prosecutor’s office told Trend. According to the preliminary information, he is the husband of one of the victims.
Twenty-eight-year-old wounded Natig Mammadov and thirty-year-old Gunel Mammadova with multiple gunshot wounds were taken to the hospital, the Ganja Emergency Aid Hospital said.
Both are Safikurd villagers of the Goranboy region.
