A delegation headed by the Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov is visiting Romania invited by the country`s Defence Minister Mircea Dusa.
The delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defence of Romania, General Dumitru Scarlat.
The delegation paid tribute to national leader Heydar Aliyev by putting a wreath and flowers at his bust in the Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Bucharest.
As part of the visit, the delegation met Romanian Minister of Defence Mircea Dusa and the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies Valeriu Zgonea. The sides discussed the main priorities and prospects of military cooperation between the two countries. The sides reached agreements in military-technical and military-educational spheres, as well as in the fields of mountain exercises and training exchange. They also discussed the questions of regional security and exchanged views on latest developments in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus. The sides emphasized mutual support for territorial integrity of both countries.
The delegation is expected to meet Romanian Minister of Economy Constantin Niţă.
