As part of his working visit to France, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has started to hold official meetings at the Council of Europe.
APA’s European bureau reports that the head of state has first met with the President of PACE during his visit made at President, Mrs Anna Brasseur’s invitation within the framework of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. He signed the honorary book of the Council of Europe.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and Head of the International Relations Department Novruz Mammadov and PACE Secretary General Voetsek Savitsky.
Later on, President Aliyev held a meeting with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland and Chairman of the European Court of Human Rights Din Shpilman. Azerbaijani judge of the court Khanlar Hajiyev also attended the meeting with Shpilman.
