PACE Bureau held a meeting on the first day of the PACE Summer Session.
APA’s Europe correspondent reports that the agenda of the plenary session to be held this week was discussed and “The humanitarian consequences of the war in Ukraine” was included in the agenda as an emergency item. The discussions on this item will be held on the fourth day of the session.
Several issues on Azerbaijan were also discussed at the meeting. The European parliamentarians who participated in the discussions said that PACE President Anne Brasseur raised the issue that Azerbaijan didn’t issue a visa for head of the French delegation to PACE René Rouqet.
It was decided to discuss the draft resolution on “Imposing sanctions against Armenia” authored by Elkhan Suleymanov at the meeting to be held on June 27.
It was also decided that the draft resolution on “Political prisoners in Azerbaijan” offered by the Irish MP Michael McNamara will be maintained in the Monitoring Committee and the co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan will deal with this issue.
