Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met the delegation led by the Foreign Minister of Malaysia Anifah Aman.
Mammadyarov noted that Malaysian FM`s visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to development of the relations between the two countries.
The FMs hailed the Azerbaijan-Malaysia relations and stressed the importance of the intensification of political consultations and expansion of legal framework.
Mammadyarov thanked the Malaysian counterpart for supporting Azerbaijan`s just position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to solve the problem on the basis of the norms and principles of international law.
The Azerbaijani FM said lands of Azerbaijan were occupied, one million people were ousted from their homelands and bloody ethnic cleansing policy was carried out there by the Armenians against Azerbaijani civilians.
Mammadyarov stressed that official Yerevan ignores four resolutions of the United Nations Security Council adopted in 1993 that reaffirm the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, demand immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian occupying forces from all occupied regions.
The FMs also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Malaysia in various fields including energy, investment, tourism, culture, ICT, science and education.
