A session of the Foreign Ministers Council of Turkic Speaking Countries has kicked off in Bodrum.
Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov. At the Council of Aksakals (Elders), Azerbaijan was represented by the chairman of the Board of Aksakals of Azerbaijan, MP Fattah Heydarov.
Greeting participants, the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu informed on questions standing in the agenda, noted the importance of activity of the organization founded in 2009 in the city of Nakhchivan of the Azerbaijan Republic, for the past period. The Turkish minister emphasized that the Turkish countries are connected with each other by indissoluble bonds.
Informing on organization’s activity for the past period under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov noted the significance of joint economic projects realized by the Turkic countries. The minister suggested strengthening the economic agenda of the organization and paying much attention to cooperation in the forthcoming period in the field of information technologies.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdildayev said that the Organization is capable to solve the objectives successfully in the years ahead.
The participants stated that the development of cooperation in the sphere of tourism will be in the focus of the session. They agreed to adopt a joint tour package “Turkic Council – modern Silk Road” that will be drafted by a special working group. The Business Association for Tourism Development is to be set up in order to deepen and expand cooperation within the Council.
Then, speaking was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrisov, the Secretary General of TURKSOY Dyusen Kaseinov, the Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) Jandos Asanov, the president of the International Turkic Academy Kydyrali Darkhan and the Secretary General of the Council of Cooperation of the Turkic-Speaking States (CCTSS) Khalil Akinci.
Next session of the Foreign Ministers Council of Turkic Speaking Countries is set to be held in Azerbaijan in May 2015.
