Azerbaijani president receives delegation led by Turkish FM

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu.

 

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu conveyed greetings on behalf of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Ilham Aliyev.

 

Azerbaijani president stressed the importance of the forthcoming meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in a new format, and expressed his confidence that the meeting would produce a positive outcome.

 

The head of state said that meetings at the level of foreign ministers represent an effective format for the discussion of issues related to the further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in various areas, including political, economic and other spheres.

 

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu emphasized the importance of the new format of cooperation Turkey-Azerbaijan-Iran, Turkey-Azerbaijan-Georgia, and Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan, which is being implemented on the initiative of these countries.

 

Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings from Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and asked the minister to convey his greetings to the president and prime minister of Turkey.
