Azerbaijan makes amendments to rules for repatriation of human trafficking victims

Decision on expulsion will not be made on minor victims of human trafficking

 

The Cabinet of Minister has made amendments to the “Rules for repatriation of human trafficking victims”.

 

According to the amendments, the State Migration Service will not made decision on expulsion on minor victims of human trafficking.

 

Decision on expulsion of foreigners and stateless persons, who are considered to be victims of human trafficking, will not be made for the period of 1 year and for foreigners and stateless persons that assist the prosecuting authorities till the end of prosecution.

 

Human trafficking victims, who had been permitted to live in Azerbaijan up to now, were granted the status of immigrant and possessed all rights and duties according to their status.

 

According to the amendments, this clause was removed.
