A meeting of foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey is planned to be held in the trilateral format in Baku in late May, a source in the Turkish foreign ministry told Trend on May 13.

“The foreign ministers of the three countries are expected to discuss the situation in the region, the status of the Caspian Sea, as well as development cooperation during the meeting in Baku,” the representative said.

The formats are Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia, and Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran. The summits of foreign ministers and presidents of these countries were held.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu voiced the decision to establish the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan trilateral format in late 2013 (within the 20th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council).
