Some 25,000 manats were allocated from the Azerbaijani state budget for youth policy in the first years of independence, chief of the sector on work with youth organizations in the department on social and political affairs of the Azerbaijani presidential administration Vusal Guliyev said at a workshop on “Role of trade unions in the formation of youth employment policy” on May 5.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan and the International Labour Organization.
“The figure was 25,000 manats, but today this figure exceeds 25 million manat,” he added. “This testifies to the Azerbaijani leadership’s attention paid to the youth development, its employment and health.”
“The process of preparing the state program entitled “Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015″ greatly differs from working out the previous programs, as the youth is directly charged with this work now,” he said.
“Establishing the Youth Fund is one of the youth’s proposals and this was included in the program,” he added.
“The Youth Fund was established under the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2011 after the president’s approval,” he said. “Later, the fund status was changed and it became the Youth Fund under the Azerbaijani President.”
“The sector on work with youth organizations intends to examine the experience of the leading countries in the field of youth employment,” he added.
