Azerbaijani ambassador to Finland Adish Mammadov has met the country`s Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja to discuss ways of expanding the bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade.
The ambassador informed the Finnish FM of ongoing economic development processes in Azerbaijan, and political and legal reforms carried out in the country.
He highlighted Azerbaijan-Europe relations, and the country’s role in ensuring the continent’s energy security.
The ambassador also touched on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying the dispute has had a negative impact on the country`s development.
Mammadov said it was important that Europe paid more attention to the dispute.
They also discussed regional security issues.
FM Tuomioja said Finland attached great importance to expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan.
