The meeting of the PACE Bureau was fully dedicated to the meeting of the PACE Standing Committee to be held in Azerbaijan, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Samad Seyidov told journalists on April 11.
Seyidov expressed satisfaction with the course of the PACE Bureau meeting.
“Today, we discussed the issues that will be considered during the meeting of the Standing Committee in Baku in May and set their queue. Today, the Bureau adopted a decision for the Azerbaijani president’s speech at PACE in June and holding of meetings with leaders of the Council of Europe would be approved and supported at the highest level,” Seyidov said.
The participation and speech of Azerbaijani foreign minister in Baku in May and at PACE in June were also broadly discussed and approved, according to the Azerbaijani delegation head.
In general, various events that will be held under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan in the country and those to be organized in the Council of Europe were discussed. Azerbaijan starts its chairmanship in the Council of Europe and preparatory works are carried out at high level, Seyidov said.
The meeting of PACE Bureau will be held in Baku on May 22 and the meeting of the Standing Committee will be held on May 23.
