Azerbaijan is not only old, but also one of the most active and important partners of NATO, NATO Deputy Secretary General Sorin Ducaru told media on April 11.
Ducaru is taking part in the conference on the prospects of cooperation with NATO and the 20th anniversary of “Partnership for Peace”.
“This partnership with NATO is the result of a political dialogue,” he said.
“Azerbaijan is also one of the most important countries for NATO, which made a significant contribution to peace and stability in Afghanistan,” Ducaru added.
He also praised the role of Azerbaijan in the implementation of NATO various programs.
“Energy security, the fight against terrorism is another area of our cooperation and we intend to continue it,” he said.
“These programs play an important role for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO,” he said.
