An event on the 21st anniversary of the occupation of Kalbajar has today been held at the State Theatre of Young Spectators, APA reports.
Addressing the event, Head of Kalbajar Region Executive Authority Agil Mammadov said that Azerbaijan was inflicted more than $31 billion damage as a result of the occupation of Kalbajar town of Kalbajar region, which had 129 villages, 2 settlements and 10 000 population and plundering of its surface and underground resources.
Mammadov also gave information about the recently published book “Kalbajar: Our paradise occupied by Armenia” on the 21st anniversary of the occupation of Kalbajar. The book informs about Kalbajar’s history, nature, more than 4000 species of plants grown in the region, “Istisu” and its other water resources, gold, copper, iron deposits in the region. The word Kalbajar allegedly means “Castle on the river”. Afterwards the film “Kalbajar, the miracle of nature” was demonstrated.
