“We are ready for peaceful cooperation with Armenia, but Armenia must withdraw its forces from the occupied territories”
“We have met with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group separately this week. Azerbaijan’s position is that it is not correct to conduct negotiations just for the sake of negotiations,” Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the press conference after the trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani, Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers in Van, APA reports.
He said that it is a threat not only to Azerbaijan and Armenia, but also to the region: “Armenia keeps its troops in the Azerbaijani territories and it is a threat to the region. Incidents on the contact line must be reduced. We are trying to get Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations off the ground. We are ready for peaceful cooperation with Armenia, but Armenia must withdraw its forces from the occupied territories.”
