As part of a series of events to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre in Germany, the ceremonies were held at the University of Cologne on February 21, at the Turkish House in Berlin on February 22, and in Hamburg on February 23. The events were co-organized by the Berlin-based Turkish-Azerbaijani Union, Azerbaijanis Coordination Center in Germany and Ataturk Conscience Center and actively supported by chairman of the Recognition of the Armenian Aggression NGO, writer Sariyye Jafarova.
Jafarova made presentations on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at all three events for the German, Turkish and Azerbaijani audience.
She briefed the participants about the massacre of civilians in the town of Khojaly on February 25. She called for introducing this issue for discussions of the international justice court.
Jafarova whose family was killed by Armenians told AzerTAc correspondent that her project has won the contest conducted by the Governmental Support for NGOs under the President of Azerbaijan. The main aim of the project, according to her, was to raise awareness of the German society about the Khojaly truths. As part of the project, a rally and commemoration ceremony was held in front of the Brandenburg gates in Berlin.
The event saw demonstration of the film, presentation of books on the tragedy. She thanked MPs Musa Gasimly, Rovshan Rzayev, historian Gasim Hajiyev for participation in the event. She also expressed gratitude to the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Azerbaijan`s Embassy, Turkish-Azerbaijani Union, Azerbaijanis Coordination Center in Germany.
