“The claims of Armenia’s Defense Ministry are absurd and groundless again”
“Mamikon Tigranovich Khojayan, who was interned in Azerbaijan, was treated in accordance with the international norms,” spokesman for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Lieutenant Colonel Vagif Dargahli told journalists, APA reports.
Dargahli said that Khojayan, a guide of the Armenian subversive group, was injured when he was captured. He was taken to Baku after having been offered the first medical aid and received treatment at the Main Clinic Hospital of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. A bullet was removed from his arm and he was provided with all necessary aids.
“Mamikon Tigranovich Khojayan was treated in accordance with the international norms. He didn’t complain at the meeting with the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). ICRC didn’t record any fact of torture against him. The claims of Armenia’s Defense Ministry are absurd and groundless again,” Dargahli underlined.
Armenian citizen Mamikon Tigranovich Khojayan was captured in Alibeyli village of Tovuz region on January 28. He was handed over to Armenia on the contact line of troops in the direction of Bala Jafarli village of Gazakh region on March 4. Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry reported that Khojayan was armed and a guide of the Armenian subversive group crossed the territory.
Armenia’s Defense Ministry reported that while examining Khojayan, they revealed a number of injuries and fractures, he received traumas while being held captive in Azerbaijan.
