An Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan business forum has today been held in Baku as part of a visit of a Kazakh delegation led by Alik Aidarbayev, the Governor of the Mangistau province.
The business forum organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) has brought together more than 70 businessmen from the fields of oil, food processing, energy industries, as well as government officials.
Addressing the event, Head of Administration of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry Samir Valiyev underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. According to him, a legal framework was established in this regard. Valiyev also stressed the role of high-level official visits and the activity of the joint intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation in strengthening bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
In turn, the Kazakh governor gave a background of the sectors of the province` economy. He noted there is room for expanding ties. He invited the Azerbaijani businesspersons to invest in the province.
AZPORMO head Rufat Mammadov, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani and Kazakh companies delivered speeches at the event.
The forum was followed by bilateral meetings between the businessmen.
