A monument has been unveiled in Kecioren district, the Turkish capital of Ankara, to commemorate victims of the Khojaly genocide, the killing by the Armenians of hundreds of Azerbaijani civilians in 1992.
The opening ceremony was supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and co-organized by Kecioren municipality and the Azerbaijani Embassy.
It was attended by chairman of the Turkish Parliament Cemil Cicek, Azerbaijani Ambassador Faig Baghirov, Azerbaijani and Turkish MPs, and representatives of Turkey`s ruling Justice and Development Party.
Speakers at the event criticized the West`s double-standard approach to the Armenians` brutality, and stressed the importance of taking serious measures to force Armenia give up its destructive policy.
Cicek said that those in Armenian leadership were criminals, adding it is they who committed the Khojaly genocide.
