Azerbaijan and the European Union have today signed a readmission agreement in Brussels.
Azerbaijani Delegation to the European Union told APA that the agreement was signed by head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the EU, Ambassador Fuad Isgandarov, Director-General for Home Affairs (European Commission) Stefano Manservisi and Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Greece to the EU Théodoros Sotiropoulos.
The agreement will come into force after having been confirmed by the European Parliament along with visa facilitation agreement signed between Azerbaijan and the EU in Vilnius on November 29, 2013.
According to the document, Azerbaijan shall readmit its citizens, illegally residing in the EU member states and citizens who were subject to deportation.
