Bahar Muradova: “OSCE PA can also contribute to the process”

The Azerbaijani Delegation to OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has submitted new proposals to the organization regarding the authority of OSCE PA special representative for the South Caucasus and Nagorno Karabakh, Head of the Azerbaijani Delegation to OSCE PA, Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova told APA.

Muradova noted that the proposals are about the reconsideration of the authority of OSCE PA special representative: “We think that the authority of the special representative should be enlarged. This is of particular importance. Presidents and their envoys actively hold meetings and talks, in order not to stand aside from this activity OSCE PA should strengthen the institute of special representative and give new authorities to the special representative.”

Thus, we can continue the discussions started in Croatia in various directions. We can hold meetings of communities here and develop relevant documents on the outcomes of special representative’s visit to the region. These steps can also pave the way for OSCE to play a role in discussions on the conflict and make its contributions to the process. These are our proposals.”

Muradova also underlined that they have not received an official response yet.
