The PACE Bureau has discussed the issue of observing elections in Azerbaijan in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov told APA that head of PACE observation mission Robert Walter informed the participants about the plans of observing elections in Azerbaijan. On September 10, PACE observation mission led by Walter will visit Baku to observe a pre-election situation in Azerbaijan. The mission will hold several meetings with officials and presidential candidates within a few days.
32-member mission of the PACE will make observations on the election day.
Addressing the meeting, Samad Seyidov said that Azerbaijan is ready to receive observers both before the election and on the election day: “I think that the Council of Europe, especially PACE will clearly observe all the processes in Azerbaijan and compliance of these processes with international norms and standards. In fact, making assessment and conclusions is their work and task. On our side, we will make efforts to ensure the highest level of their work.”
