Global Leaders Alliance was established with the support of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Foundation for Peace, End Human Trafficking, the State Committee for Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a number of other influential organizations.
The main goal of the alliance is the active participation of the supreme group consisting of respected scientists and former heads of state and government in establishing the political, cultural and religious understanding among civilizations in a globalizing world, the Press Service of the State Committee for Diaspora told Trend.
The top group includes former Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberg, former President of Finland Tarja Halonen, former director of UNESCO Federico Mayor Zaragoza, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Ismail Serageldin, UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser Nafis Sadik and Queen Noor of Jordan.
The first meeting of the alliance is being held on May 7-8 in Baku. The main offices of the Alliance will be in Washington, Geneva, Alexandria, and Baku.
