Minsk to discuss draft agenda of CIS Council heads of states and foreign ministers’ meetings

A meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the CIS states will be held within the CIS executive committee on Aug. 21, the CIS executive committee said.
The meeting will be attended by CIS executive secretary Sergei Lebedev.
Permanent representatives will discuss a draft agenda of the meetings to be held in Ashgabat on Nov.1-2. These are supposed to discuss preparations for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory at the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, in ecology and environmental protection, communications and information, organisation of an integrated currency market, as well as ensuring security.
In addition, the permanent representatives will consider activities of the council of heads of states and public broadcasting organisations of the CIS states.
Plenipotentiary representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are involved in the Council, established in 2007.

After the meeting, members of the Council of Permanent Representatives will participate in the award ceremony of laureates of the CIS Award in 2011 for achievements in the quality of products and services. The decision on the awards was taken at a meeting of the Economic Council held on June 21.
