The talks between Azerbaijani and Armenian communities on Nagorno-Karabakh must be held at a neutral territory, representative of Azerbaijani intelligentsia, rector of Academy of Music, Farhad Badalbeyli, said. “We think that the talks between communities must be held at a neutral territory but not Nagorno-Karabakh. Georgia is the best place for it,” Badalbeyli told media on October 6.

Today United States, French and Russian co-chairmen of OSCE Minsk Group met with head of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh Bayram Safarov within the visit to Baku. The representatives of Armenian and Azerbaijani intelligentsia visited Khankendi, Yerevan and Baku on June 28, 2007 upon the initiative of Azerbaijani and Armenian ambassadors to the Russian Federation – Polad Bulbuloglu and Armen Smbatyan. Azerbaijani delegation included Polad Bulbuloglu, Farhad Badalbeyli, Kamal Abdulla, Azer Pasha Nematov and Ilham Fataliyev. Azerbaijani intelligentsia’s second visit to Nagorno-Karabakh was held in summer 2009.

“Before co-chairmen were not interested whether we wanted to return to our lands. Now we are pleased that this issue was raised at last. We would like to live at our lands but we need guarantees of security,” native of Shusha Farhad Badalbeyli said.

“We were glad to meet with Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh. It is very important that they expressed readiness to live together with Armenian community,” French co-chairman Bernard Fassier said after the meeting with representatives of Azerbaijani community.
