The statement says that Armenians showed genetic hatred against Azerbaijanis in all periods of history.
“Genocide against Azerbaijanis on March 31, 1918, is the most terrible tragedy committed by Armenians. Armenian-Bolshevik units fired on Baku from ships early in the morning on March 30. After that armed dashnaks rushed into the houses of Azerbaijanis and killed them. There were mass slaughters on March 31 – April 1. Armenian dashnaks killed 17,000 Azerbaijanis in Baku within three days, destroyed valuable historical monuments. Such bloody slaughters were also committed in Baku, Gandja, Guba, Khachmaz, Shamakhy, Lankaran and Mughan,” the statement says.
Human Rights Commissioner calls on the international organizations to support right position of Azerbaijan and believes that influential international bodies will impose sanctions against Armenia, which has made the genocide a part of its policy, Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, the violated rights of refugees and IDPs will be restored, captives will be released.
The statement is addressed to the UN Secretary General, Assistant-Secretary-General, UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, UN Human Rights Commissioner, OSCE, Council of Europe, International and European Ombudsman institutes, Asian Ombudsman Association, International Peace Bureau, Universal Peace Federation, human rights commissioners of various countries, Azerbaijani embassies abroad, embassies of foreign countries in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations.
