Bill banning smoking in public places to be submitted to MM

MP Ganira Pashayeva has prepared bill banning smoking in public places, MP told APA.

Pashayeva said that she would present draft law to MM soon. To her, the document covers experience of Turkey and other countries as well.
“The document envisages ban of smoking in entertainment center, café, restaurant, square, corridor, transport and other places. Smoking should be banned in place, where gathered more than four people”, she said.
Pashayeva underlined that whole world campaigns against smoking at present. The number of smokers increased in Azerbaijan at present.
“Unfortunately, women and pupils use it. Smoking causes cancer and other grave diseases”, she said.
MP stressed that the draft law envisaged implementation of fines for breach of law on ban of smoking in public places, cancellation of cigarette advertising, ban of selling cigarette to persons under 18.
